The objective of usability testing is to make computer systems easier to use, allowing users to undertake their tasks in a manner that is effective, efficient and satisfying. But does it offer a return on investment?
Dr John Eklund, Senior Consultant, Usability & Instructional Design at Access Testing, addresses this issue in an article entitled 'Usability Testing: Is it really worth it?' The article appears in the October/November 2006 issue of the print journal Information Age, The Journal of the Australian Computer Society.
Dr Eklund has also co-authored a paper for the recent E-Learn Conference. The paper, 'Conceptions in E-Learning: Debates and Dialogues', was presented to researchers, developers and practitioners who gathered in Hawaii during 13–17 October 2006 for this forum. The E-Learn conference addressed the latest global issues, current research and leading-edge developments, emerging trends, best practices, and innovative techniques.
